Health Screening & Assessment Services
The mantra "If it can be measured, it can also be managed" has been at the core of what beBetter provides since its inception in 1986. Last year, beBetter conducted health screenings in 47 states throughout the U.S., at hundreds of worksites — all with the highest quality and highest customer satisfaction in the industry.

Health Risk Assessment:
The AMP beBetter Services "Personal Wellness Profile" (PWP) is a brief, yet effective, health risk assessment using 39 preset questions, along with 12 client-customizable optional questions. The preferred web based PWP uses the same questions as those that appear in the paper-based format, and provides the option of including customized questions. Using the web-based PWP is not only far more cost-effective but also allows participants to immediately view and print results, providing active links to additional information.

On-site Biometric Health Screening:
Clients may select screenings from a wide range of blood work analysis, utilizing both venipuncture and finger stick methodologies. Bio-metrics, such as height, weight, blood pressure, and BMI can be included. Osteoporosis, Skin Caner, Colorectal screening, and variety of other screenings are also available

Medical Claims Analysis and Integration Services:
Data and claims analysis is vital to identifying baselines and needed to gauge program effectiveness. A full range of analytics is available to integrate insurance and wellness program data.

Lifestyle Health Coaching
AMP’s beBetter services offers a personalized approach to health and lifestyle coaching. Our coaching model is unique in the industry in that it pairs one client with one coach, forming a more individualized client-focused engagement.

All coaches have a minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Counseling Psychology, Health Education, Nursing or related credentials. In addition, all coaches receive on-going training and support.

Tobacco Cessation Programs

Starting in 1986 with group-based smoking cessation classes, we have expanded our programs and services to become one of the nation’s premier providers in tobacco cessation. Our Tobacco Solutions program is based on the Centers for Disease Control’s "Best Practices Guidelines for Comprehensive Tobacco Cessation Programs."  

Components of the program include:
  • An easy-to-access 800 number and web site for gaining program information and enrollment;
  • A customized state-of-the-art data management system for client intake information, prescription activity, phone coach monitoring, mailing records, reporting and evaluation;
  • Customized and tailored cessation support materials;
  • The option of home delivery of NRT products (patch, gum, lozenge);
  • A highly-trained and effective telephone-based coaching team;
  • A proven, experienced administrative staff and system to effectively manage and deliver the program;
  • An in-depth evaluation including return on investment, penetration rates, program satisfaction, and outcome data.

Weight Management Programs
AMP’s beBetter Services presents a clinically validated weight management program utilizing the LEARN® Program for Weight Management. Developed by Kelly Brownell, Ph.D., a Yale University Professor, this nationally recognized program incorporates the five key components which are essential for a sound, safe, and effective program:
1. Lifestyle    2. Exercise    3. Attitude    4. Relationships    5. Nutrition 

Coaching Component:
To help make these important, but sometimes difficult steps towards a healthier lifestyle, participants will work one-on-one, telephonically, with a personal weight management coach using the LEARN Program for the weight management curriculum. The coach will assist the participant in identifying specific behaviors impacting their weight and help develop strategies for change. Together, goals are set and a plan of action will be established for meeting these goals. Throughout a series of calls, the coach provides the structure, support, guidance, and motivation which is necessary for their participants success.

Results:
97% Satisfaction Rate, based on pre- and post- survey responses among our participants: 86% improved their nutritional status 73% made progress toward reducing their weight 73% increased their physical activity status

A goal of 1 – 2 lb loss per week is encouraged with our clients, which is supported by national guidelines. Most can expect to see 12 – 25 lbs weight loss during the course of their program.

In a one year study comparing the LEARN program to e-diets, the group utilizing the LEARN manual lost a significant greater amount of weight, at both 16 and 52 weeks, than the group using e-diets. Investigators suggested that the structure of the LEARN Program curriculum may have been responsible for the greater weight loss in this group. Click here to view this study.

Wellness Program Consultation
Providing over 22 years of award winning wellness program consultation and management services, we have the experience and resources to design, administer, implement and evaluate your program. Based on a "Management by Objectives" approach, we follow a proven program development process referred to as "The Wellness Cycle." The Wellness Cycle consists of five distinct but interdependent steps:  

Assessment Services:
Utilizing all available tools, such as needs and interests surveys, cultural audits, health risk assessments, medical claims analysis, etc., we will assess the factors and conditions of the workforce and workplace as it relates to program design and development.

Program Planning Services:
Following the assessment phase described above, we will work with the client to develop an operational plan to guide the program. Components of the plan include the development of agreed upon goals and objectives, activities required to reach objectives, staff responsibilities, timelines, budgets and evaluation methods.

Program Marketing & Communications Plan:
Following the development of the program plan, a marketing and communications strategy must be developed and implemented. We will identify existing communications channels as well as suggest the creation of productive new strategies. We will also provide a range of customary sample content in the form of newsletter articles, memos, flyers, posters, etc. that can be customized for specific program needs.

Program Implementation and Delivery Services:
Following the above steps of assessing needs, creating a plan and effectively communicating the program, we will design a delivery strategy that incorporates the required tools, programs and resources for reaching program objectives. Utilizing the products and services available through AMP’s beBetter Services, as well as related company and community resources, we will provide the appropriate interventions to achieve success.

Evaluation Services:
We will help to design and administer a practical, yet effective, reporting and evaluations strategy that will look at both process and outcome measures to verify program success.

Our Staff Qualifications:
Wellness program consultation services are provided by our highly trained and experienced Health Promotion Consultants (HPC). HPCs are professionals in the field of health promotion with degrees in health education, health management or related fields. They complete extensive internal training and development programs and are assisted by program content directors such as The Director of Population Health Management, Medical Director, Director of Health Screening and Assessment, etc. as needed.
